Shinae Yoon, Visual Communications (Los Angeles, CA)
Dean Otto, Associate Curator, Film/Video, Walker Art Center
Dean Otto (Walker Art Center, Associate Curator, Film/Video) became active in film and video programming in 1985 at the University of Wisconsin--Madison. He joined the Film/Video Department at the Walker Art Center in 1995 where he co-curates the Expanding the Frame series and oversees work from the Ruben/Bentson Film and Video Study Collection, as well as the annual Queer Takes series. Otto is also co-curator of the MNTV series on Twin Cities Public Television.
Shirley K. Sneve, Executive Director, Native American Public Telecommunications
Shirley Sneve is Executive Director of Native American Public Telecommunications. Prior to that she was director of Arts Extension Service in Amherst, MA. A member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe, Shirley was a founder of Northern Plains Tribal Arts Show, the Oyate Trail cultural tourism byway, and the Alliance of Tribal Tourism Advocates. She was director of the Visual Arts Center in Sioux Falls, assistant director of South Dakota Arts Council and a producer for South Dakota Public Broadcasting.
Tate Shaw, Director, Visual Studies Workshop
Tate is Director of Visual Studies Workshop, a center for the media arts with an MFA Program in Visual Studies and co-publisher of Preacher's Biscuit Books both in Rochester, NY. He is also an artist with work in most major collections for artists' books and writes essays, reports, and reviews on artists' books and photography for Afterimage, JAB, Contact Sheet, and The Blue Notebook, amongst other publications. Tate has an MFA from VSW and a BA from William Jewell College in Liberty, MO.
Justine Nagan, Executive Director, Kartemquin Films
Justine is Kartemquin Films’ Executive Director. With Kartemquin, she recently directed Typeface, and was Associate Producer on the Peabody award-winning Terra Incognita. Prior, she helped Kartemquin develop an education series while earning her Humanities Master's Degree from the University of Chicago. Other experience includes teaching at the Hyde Park Art Center, and working as a Theatre Manager for the Chicago International Film Festival and as a Fellow for The HistoryMakers.
Lee Ann Kim, Executive Director, San Diego Asian Film Foundation
Lee Ann Kim is the founding executive director of the San Diego Asian Film Foundation (SDAFF). A former broadcast news journalist, Lee Ann has been awarded Best Festival Director by the International Film Festival Summit in 2008, and recognized by San Diego Magazine as one of the Top 50 People to Watch in 2009. She has grown the SDAFF's annual film festival from a 3 day event into a dynamic, 15-day festival, showcasing 200+ films from 20 countries.
